MANUEL CUEVAS nos RELATA una divertida ANÉCDOTA del encuentro

Preguntamos a Manuel Cuevas sobre la famosa anécdota de este encuentro con Dalí. Ese día Edith Head y Salvador Dalí venían a recoger una camisa de estilo western para el genio de Figueras cuyo diseño había realizado el propio Manuel. Dalí se la probó y se miró en el espejo diciendo: "¿Qué clase de flor es esa?". Manuel contestó: "Es una flor española". Dalí le replicó: "No sé en donde nacen ese tipo de flores". Y Manuel le respondió: "Nacen y crecen aquí", y le mostró su cabeza.

 

Dalí, divertido por la ocurrencia dibujó a los dos mientras estaban frente del espejo y le regaló el dibujo a Manuel como obsequio. Salvador Dalí estaba muy satisfecho con la compra y encargó diversas camisas a Viola Grae que hizo los bordados y que Manuel cosió, y que son las que recogemos a continuación. Una prendas que pedimos al diseñador que reconociera y cuya respuesta fue afirmativa, todas habían pasado por su expertas manos. Estas camisas fueron utilizadas por Salvador Dalí durante muchos años, décadas incluso, mientras pintaba sus geniales creaciones surrealistas.
