Vince Gill To Release New Album ‘Okie’ In August

Vince Gill will return with his new album, Okie, to be released Aug. 23. Gill, who wrote or co-wrote all 12 tracks on the album, derived the album’s name from a once-derogatory term meant to disparage migrants from Oklahoma to the west coast during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. Oklahoma native Gill appropriates the term on his new album, which embraces his Oklahoma roots and explores timely issues.
