Banjo, Guitar & Bass Players from 18 states, Australia and Switzerland Learn from the Masters

It’s a wrap for another successful annual Kruger Brothers Music Academy. The 5th annual event was held in Wilkesboro, NC May 5-8.

The exclusive event offers masterclass instruction for students from around the world by the internationally renowned Kruger Brothers. The 2016 event hosted students from 18 U.S. states, Australia and Switzerland.

The academy is an intensive and inspiring educational weekend for banjo, guitar and bass players of all levels; a truly unique opportunity for attendees to immerse themselves in musical discussion, instruction, and collaboration in a fun workshop environment. The event features a student “Night of Stars” performance, and plenty of opportunities for jamming with one another, and with the illustrious hosts.

Jens Kruger (winner of the Steve Martin Award for Excellence in Banjo), Uwe Kruger (who was recently featured in No Depression Magazine for his songwriting and guitar playing) and Joel Landsberg (highly accomplished multi-genre bass player), are already making plans for the 2017 academy, and are considering additional locations for similar events in other cities.

The Kruger Brothers have recorded 18 albums and regularly perform their exquisite blend of classical, bluegrass and folk music throughout the world. The group will premiere a new concerto on October 15th in Bristol, TN.

The commissioned piece honors the history and region of Tennessee’s Roan Mountain. The Kruger Brothers will once again be featured performers at World of Bluegrass, the annual International Bluegrass Music Association conference and festival 2016.
