Front man Jerry Hart, born and raised in Odessa, grew up oil field like most have in West Texas. Jerry has always had a love... for music, has played piano, guitar, bass guitar, and mandolin, of which most were self-taught. Before graduating Andrews High School, he took an interest in singing and received multiple awards including state honors and found his “Nitch” so to speak. He began singing “live” in 1987 when the country music band “Flatland” originated in Andrews. So for the next 10 years, the band Flatland played a very consistent schedule, performing originals as well as covers, and had the honor of performing with some of the greats in country music. Some of which are Clay Walker, Tracy Byrd, Mark Chestnutt, Rick Trevino, BR549, and David Allen Coe… Just to name a few.

In 1997, Jerry took a break to raise a family, but never lost the passion for music and performing live. In 2013, he decided it was time to bring the guys back together. And with little resistance from the guys, Jerry Hart & Flatland came back on the West Texas music scene. They still have a very regular and consistent rehearsal schedule… and so over the course of the last almost two years now, have played over 100 local and surrounding area venues with a great following. Jerry & Flatland bring to the table such a mix of genres in their music that it’s hard to find anyone unhappy in the crowd. Ray Price with a mix of Merle Haggard in there, to Darius Rucker and Luke Bryan. And of course, some of the Texas Country greats, Aaron Watson, Randy Rogers, Kevin Fowler and then add a rock twist in there of the Rolling Stones and Joe Walsh? There is definitely something for everyone and that’s just the covers! Jerry has an amazing gift for songwriting which gives them a sound all their own. Their shows are a mix of heartfelt originals with some crowd favorite covers done “Flatland Style”.
